We had a great stay at the Holyrood Hotel. Set just back from the Royal Mile but within walking distance to Princes Street & all the other attractions. Our check in & out were quick & the receptionists were very pleasant & helpful. The rooms were lovely & clean & had a free in room safe & mini fridge along... more

Booked through Superbreak to see a show in town .They failed to tell us that if you wished to garage your car at this hotel you needed to reserve a space. As this could have been a serious problem for me and my wife I was not pleased when confronted with one hell of a rigmaroll to leave my car... more

I can't possibly see how this hotel can be 4* rated. Its decor is tired, signs of wear and tear are easily visable everywhere you look. The rooms are dirty and dated - don't know how they are getting away with charging what they are! Where is visit scotland when you need them? Breakfast is an absolute debarkle. Don't try... more

All in all very good, only major problem was the room, at night the light in the hallway came in under the door & lit up the whole rrom. Had to put a towel down along the end of the door to stop light coming in, Was still left with light coming in the "peep" hole. Hotel and staff are... more

After staying in much smaller family hotels, it was so nice to stay in a lovely hotel in Edinburgh. We had driven up from Blackpool and arrived late in the night, but were so pleased to fall into a luxurious room and wonderful beds. All our service was wonderful during our three day stay. A pleasant calm in a busy... more

Could do so much better given the location. A shambles from start to finish. Given a dirty room, no extra towels, no blankets, room service unavailable, pool closes early and breakfast runs out of kippers. 4 star? You decide. more

Booked through Late Rooms. The room I was given first had a large hole in the bathroom door but when I complained I was moved to a lovely room on the 6th floor. For some reason the lift button for that floor didn't work going up which meant getting out on the 5th. It was however possible to bring the... more

We got a pretty good value internet rate, room only. For this standard of hotel (nice but not uber-swanky) the standard of service was great, the staff fantastic. The pool facilities, while a little grubby, were pretty good. Best was the location - 5 mins to Holyrood Park, where suddenly you don't feel like you're in the city anymore, 5... more

The hotel is located close to the major sights in Edinburgh. The room was a good size and was well serviced. There is an indoor swimming pool including a sauna and steam room, however these close relatively early at 19:30. The gym appeared to be very well equipped. There is valet parking at the hotel costing £20.00 per night or... more
