Staff is warm and friendly. I appreciated 40" flat screen TV (though lousy stations) and free Internet (make sure you get your access card at the desk). BUT. I stayed here for one night in Edinburgh after arriving for a weeklong drive around Scotland. Its about a 15-minute walk to the center of town & Edinburgh Castle. The staff was very friendly & willing to take care of any needs we had. The elevator was out of order but they did offer to have someone carry our bags... more

I read all the reviews of this hotel before I travelled so wasn't expecting anything special. For the price charged, it should be of a good standard but it is let down in a couple of areas. I would say it was good value for money to stay in this hotel. Walking to old city was not too bad and the room was clean and comfortable. The traffic noise can be a problem for someone, but that was not too bad either. I could go again. more

Booked this hotel as it was advertised as a 4* "Hidden Gem". What a let down. The hotel was tired and shabby with basic facilities, little ventilation (there was no air conditioning and bedroom windows had limited opening of about 3 inches) and the sole lift was out of commission. This was poor value. Sold to our company as 4 star. Lift was broken on arrival, our rooms were third floor. The room was very small and cramped. The bathroom was equally small.
