First the good- we had a great view from our room. Also the room was a good size and had a proper bed for our daughter rather than a foldaway bed which was a huge plus. Nice decor. Restaurant was fairly reasonably priced. Free parking. Across the road from a shopping centre with supermarket, KFC etc. No other restaurants close... more

had a 2 night stay here. Originally booked twin room on 4th floor however we were offered an upgrade to a mini suite on 5th floor which we accepted. (£10 extra per night). The room was comfortable, well furnished, quiet and with a good view over part of the City and Pentland Hills. all the staff were friendly and helpful.... more

Good hospitality, specially the location of the hotel not too much in the city, not too much far from the city more

Good quality accomodation a few miles from the city centre but only 15 minutes by bus from the station or airport. Located next door to the zoo, which you get entry to with the good value Edinburgh card (also includes bus travel, guided walks, boat rides, museums, etc). Staff a bit surly at breakfast - one lady in particular had... more

We chose this slightly out of town hotel because we were driving and didn't want the hassle of a drive into the city centre. The driving directions given on the website however are a bit confusing-be prepared to drive a couple of miles along Queensferry road towards the city centre. We thought we must have taken the wrong route as Queensferry road... more

My wife and I stayed for two nights over Easter. We got a good deal through the hotel web-site £72 bed and breakfast per night with a 3-course evening meal on one night. Check in was excellent and our room on the 5th floor overlooked the City with great views. The room was adequate but the bathroom was tiny -... more

I am too much of a planner to use websites like Priceline, but I decided to give it a try for a recent weekend trip from our current home in London to Edinburgh. I requested a three star hotel within the city centre for $50USD per night, and much to my surprise my request was not rejected; I was booked... more

I have stayed in the Holiday Inn Edinburgh North a few times. On the whole its reasonably tired, but clean and adequate. High rooms to the East have good views of the castle and the panorma towards leith, but if you like peace and quite, avoid the top floor 6, as there is quite a lot of low frequency noise... more

Deserves much better than Tripadvisor's mid-ranking for hotels in Edinburgh, Found it all excellent value, good-standard accommodation, not located in absolute city cenre but a short and convenient bus ride away. The staff were all exceedingly polite attentive and pleasant and the food [we stayed D B & B] surprizingly good. more

We booked the hotel as a last minute deal and were pleased with the £49 per night room tariff, Check in was swift and we quickly made it to our room. The room was spacious, with a double bed and a comfortable sofa bed. The bathroom was also a good size, although had some minor paintwork that could have done... more
