Now I know there maybe more charming and cosy hotels in Edinburgh, but I have to say that the Marriott Edinburgh had exceeded my expectations. The exterior of the hotel looks rather drab and not too exciting but once you have gone through the doors, the place is typical upmarket Marriott. The hotel rooms are spacious, clean and luxurious. Considering... more

The water was never very hot during our 3 day stay..Breakfast was very good but dine elswhere in the evenings. Good Italian and chinese walking distance but weekends book! I travelled to Edinburgh by train - the hotel is an £11 ride in a taxi from Haymarket railway station to the west of the city ( more from Waverley) - passing the zoo and Murrayfield - a great place to stay if you are overnighting a rugby international ( but not wanting to experience a night in Rose or... more

Stayed here at the beginning of October with my husband. Fabulous hotel. A bit out of the city centre, but the bus stop is just beside the hotel and the cost is £1.20 and if you a a bus pass free. Food was excellent and the breakfast huge. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms escellent. We are goind back at... more

I stayed here on the night of my wedding. The venue for my wedding didn't offer any rooms for guests and we were leaving for our Honeymoon the next day. We stayed here and enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and a decent size and the bathroom was clean and also quite large. The bed was very comfy and... more

Stayed for one night in September. Almost 40 minutes on the bus to get to the city center. Nothing around to keep a tourist interested. Right on a very busy road - insist on an interior/courtyard room. Rooms are very average except for the always amazing Marriott bedding. Internet at 15 pounds is pretty outrageous considering slow and spotty service.... more

Room was large and very clean & the windows opened for fresh air. Shopping mall, with grocery store and food court, was w/in walking distance from hotel. Not close to town, but bus stop is right in front of the hotel. Bathroom large, clean and had a deep tub. Very comfy bed and towels were good and thick. We stayed... more

Stayed here free (Marriott rewards points) with spouse and adult daughter and son-in law (2 rooms) for one night prior to flights back to USA the next day. The location is near the airport – 10 minute cab ride (about 9 GBP) but not very convenient to downtown Edinburgh, although a bus from the airport to downtown does stop outside... more

My wife and I were visiting Edinburgh for about a week and stayed at the Marriott Edinburgh primarily because we had to use up some Marriott reward points. It turns out that it was a fine place to stay: Our room was well equipped and very quiet and the facility as a whole is well maintained. Moreover, it was convenient... more

Our stay at the Marriott Edinburgh was perfectly fine. It is probably best for: 1) Stays related to business meetings in close by office parks (RBS looks to have a pretty large campus closeby); 2) Fly away specials for early morning flights from Ediburgh airport 3) Stay with with package vacation; 4) Those willing to spend a bit of time... more
