We stayed in the George hotel in August 2008 at the beginning of a short tour of Scotland. The hotel is very centrally located, minutes walk from Princes St and Waverley Station and across Princes St. Gardens from the castle. Have stayed in The George twice, once as a valwntines day surprise trip, where we were in a superior room. This was a package with a cheaper price than normal and it was worth every penny. I took my daughter for her 18th birthday (rather expensive but it was a special treat) very clean, the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in, very helpful staff, and excellent breakfast. i just need to win the lottery then we can spend a couple of weeks there.
