The hostel has great facilities - a 24 hour reception, free internet, a bar that's open till 5am with a pool table, a piano to mess about on, and helpful staff. We went to Edinburgh for the festival and it was only a 15 minute walk to most things we wanted to do. The hostel is very busy and our... more

This hostel is not the biggest or the smallest. It is not the ugliest or the most beautiful. It is as clean and safe as any other hostel. But people in there are great. And that thing I felt when I got there made me make it my home for a few month while I kept travelling around Europe. more

I was afraid to stay there that night... had to stay at another hotel with friends and slept on the floor. I tried to get my money back, but they told me that I could not. The hostel felt very dirty, almost like a night club looks the next day after the sun comes out and everyone is hung over.... more

Myself, and 15 fellow Big Hitters from London, headed up to Edinburgh to check out the local vibe, and to see what was going down. Upon checking into the Master suite - a 16 bed apartment with 1 ensuite (also used as a bedroom) we headed to the bar. We found this area very accomodating. The adjacent restroom also gave... more

I arrived at this establishment in the late afternoon. As I was on a 'stag do' I immediately assumed that I was involved in some sort of absolutely ridiculous and cruel 'wind up' designed to psychologically destroy the stag before the 'do' had actually begun. Unfortunately, it wasn't, we were actually staying there. The 'checking in' process was initially similar... more

Avoid this place like the plague! It is filthy - bathrooms, bedrooms, corridors, bars, windows, stairs etc etc - all filthy. The air in the corridors by the bar and in the stairwell leading upwards from beside the bar area is fetid and stale. The carpets are dirty and stained, especially outside the bathroom doors. The bathrooms have to be... more

Cool graffiti on the wall, bar was there so good place for fun, but room was dirty and basic, bathroom wasn't that great either. Staff were friendly though, I remember the guy at reception being tolerant and helpful with me when I stumbled in drunk at 2am and explained to him that I'd lost my room key (they probably get... more

we loved the hostel. it was right in the centre of the city, it had loads of funky gravitti on the walls. it was a little run down but it added to the atmosphere. the rooms were clean and the breakfast basic but great. it has a bar with really cheap drinks, which we loved. more

We found the hostel easily enough; fairly near the main street, Princes Street. The first thing that struck me were the wonderfully painted walls. Very cool designs. Which should have alerted me to the fact that this was kind of a party hostel. We booked a Triple Room, and on the first night, there was a massive party in the... more

The location is superb, the hostel however shockingly dirty!! I could not believe to find such a dirty and disgusting place in Europe. The bar in the hostel is nice but that is the only feature there. The beds and the whole state of the rooms is unacceptable. more
