Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely friendly welcome by all staff. This is a beautiful hidden gem. Perfect location for all the popular sights in Edinburgh which are within walking distance. We stayed in a small double which was perfect for a 1 night stay. Very clean and has everything you need. Breakfast was beautiful. Would definitely recommend it.

Great hotel, stylish yet understated. Staff were professional and very approachable. It was in a great location and the hotel was quiet. We had a four poster bedroom and the bathroom was superb with constant under floor heating. Clean and beautifully decorated. We will definitely be back for our next trip to Edinburgh Thank you x

Arrived early before checking time but staff kindly made coffee for us and stored baggage til room was ready. Room had all the usual things expected of a boutique hotel and was warm and clean. Generally the staff were both helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was good , all food nicely prepared and served. Good location for West end of Edinburgh and reasonably convenient for rail station. Will stay here again.

We opted for a Georgian Suite and it was glorious. Dinner at the restaurant was a great experience. The food was excellent and staff very attentive. The location was great as it was within walking distance to the shopping area, bars and restaurants.

Lovely hotel in a good location for Edinburgh attractions, staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Perfect breakfast. Did raise the issue of what seemed to be ‘air in the pipes’ as early morning caused us from 4am to be woken by a very loud noise, it then went on for 3 more occasions. I’m sure this will be sorted as it was going to be mentioned to the Maintenance Team. Room was beautiful, only comment to make (which is common in hotels) would be lovely to have a full length mirror fitted somewhere, ideally next to a power socket to allow hair drying/styling products can be used. Would definitely recommend staying at the hotel to friends and family.

This is a little gem of a hotel, located in a quiet street yet within easy walking distance of all Edinburgh has to offer. The room was lovely (no 2) and had everything you could want including a super comfy bed. The restaurant (Noll) was superb, the food and presentation were amazing! However what really sets this hotel apart is the staff they were just lovely, professional yet friendly and Irene was super helpful, kind and just a real asset to this hotel. Would absolutely recommend!

This hotel is gorgeous! The pictures did not do it justice. The room was perfect, so much space too, I wish we'd been there for more than 1 night. There was a slight mix up with check in times (think it was a mistake in the email) however it wasn't a big issue. The lady who greeted us was lovely, showed us round the hotel. We hadn't planned on breakfast and so glad we changed our mind, lovely options and tasted amazing. The extras that we had booked with the room were perfect too. I honestly couldn't of asked for a better room. It was a perfect stay and I can't wait to go back again. Thank you, Becki
