Everywhere appeared to be nice at first sight. But room very small, mirrors inadequate, room freezing, bathroom even colder, heat on for about 2hrs per day. Bed was very hard. The best thing about the hotel is the building - stayed in second building and the features in hallway are amazing. I had room 19 and was small - ok by myself for a couple of nights but would not want to stay a week for 2 in it. I stayed here for the Edinburgh festival and thought that it was great. The owners were great and I really loved the way that it kept a sort of non-commercial charm by being located in two merged houses rather than a big building- the rooms were cosy and it felt like being in a real British home... The hotel was lovely and clean and with bus stops nearby very handy for getting into the centre. Unfortunately being on a main road it was very noisy from the traffic.
