Dear guest, I am sorry to learn of your disappointment with the size of your room and your impression of our staff. As our building is a Grade 1 listed building which is over 100 years old, no two rooms are exactly alike, each bedroom having a unique configuration. I am sorry if at the time of your stay we...
We chose this hotel as the venue for our 3 day honeymoon break and I can honestly say it was the best decision we have ever made. The staff are courteous, polite, informed and impeccably dressed 24/7. No request was too much trouble and was carried out swiftly. The building is an awesome sight as you come up Princes Street.... more
Very traditional hotel with great service , doormen in traditional kilts greet you and take you to reception who take over , very smooth , to be honest the room we were allocated was prettty average with an internal view (hotel is built around a central space' so half the rooms look inwards) but as we were on a corporate... more
I've stayed here before and it didn't disappoint this time either. Great service, lovely room. And I love the old splendour of the Palm Court. Number One restaurant was also well worth the visit. There are some things that I don't particularly like - valet parking at a cost of £25 (but this is the centre of Edinburgh I guess)... more
We stayed from 5/17-5/22, and loved every minute of it. Though we felt out of place in the luxurious surroundings, the front desk, concierge and hotel staff never made us feel unwelcome. In fact, when we come in at night, we'd end up chatting with the concierge about our plans for the next day, then segue into a discussion over... more
Dear Guest, Thank you for the feedback you have posted on the Trip Advisor website. Your positive comments are very much appreciated and it is will be a pleasure to share them with my team. The Balmoral is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Every guest is made to feel like royalty - huge rooms, very good breakfast, incredible views over waverley station, princes street garden, edinburgh castle and the old city. Impressive conference facilities. Located on Princes Street next to Waverley Station so access is not a problem. The only fault is... more
I recently stayed at the Balmoral for 6 nights. We had a room on the top floor, with spectacular views of the Edinburgh Castle, the Scott Monument, and the Bridge. The hotel staff was courteous, friendly, and extremely professional. We had and deeply enjoyed dinner at both restaurants (Number One, and Hadrian's) and drinks at both bars (Balmoral, which is... more
I booked a classic suite at the Balmoral for one night as part of a weekend trip to Edinburgh to treat a friend for her birthday. I stay at a fair number of 5 star hotels as I go on quite a few luxury city breaks, and overall I would say the staff at the Balmoral were amongst the best... more
The best hotel in Edinburgh. Located just a few steps away from shops&restaurants of George's Street, it gives a straight and fast access to all the historic sites of the city. We walked to Edinburgh Castle in 15 minutes. Very large, spacious and well maintained rooms, fabulous breakfasts with good music, very good service and attention from the staff. And... more
stayed for just one night in February, room had an amazing view over the city, great service, lovely entrance and great location overall probably still overly expensive for what you got and if the room didnt have a view I dont think it would have been worth it, as an extra charged 6.50 for internet use which was quite mean... more
