Good points : room quiet, good choice at breakfast buffet, free parking, took bus into city center and didn't have more than 5 min wait. Bad points: bed & pillow(s) uncomfortable, fire alarm at 3:00 on Saturday morning. Got impression from fireman that this was not their first call out to this hotel. Had to wait 35-40 mins outside in... more

Had a perfect stay at this hotel. We paid £70 for the room per night. I advise to book breakfast on arrival. It was £13.95 pp if you didn't, but only £9.95 if you did. Yes its expensive BUT you could eat as much as you wanted and there was so much choice to choose from. The room was spotless... more

Have just returned from a long weekend at this hotel & it was great. We were in a family room which was very clean & comfortabe - although we could have done with extra pillows. We were lucky & never suffered any problems with noise. Breakfast was good with a wide variety, we purchased this in advance, & our kids... more

Hotel is conveniently located on the bus route between Edinburgh City and the Airport. Lovely large bedroom and bathroom with really nice toiletries. I stayed on a room only basis and it was well priced for Edinburgh. However, I skipped breakfast as the prices were ridiculously high! I would stay again as a stopover or would be excellent location for... more

Our stay in The Holiday Inn was a great experience. We had one slight problem on the 1st night but the hotel have since sorted it, and we would be more than happy to stay there again. The hotels location is great for Murrayfield, the ice rink/rugby stadium is only a 15-20 min walk away. We didn't eat the hotel... more

I might have given this hotel 3 stars if it was just an individual hotel, but this place is a Holiday Inn and does not meet the Holiday Inn standard that I, and many others, expect. We stayed as part of a Trafalgar Tours group. The Holiday Inn Edinburgh must be one of the oldest Holiday Inn properties in the... more

I stayed in this hotel as a part of a Trafalgar Tour group in August. The room I stayed in was the size of a broom closet. The health and safety of the customer was totally disregarded. The furniture was arranged in a way that you practically almost trip over them. My suitcase was brought up into the room and... more

Arrived 9.00 in morning by airport bus which stops immediately outside. Friendly receptionist invited us to wait in coffee lounge for half an hour until our room was quickly prepared (check-in usually 3pm). Room was good size, comfortable bed, clean and bathroom small but sparkling. Ate in-house in Sampans (Oriental) & Traders restaurants on consecutive nights - both were good... more

Good points. - Friendly and helpful staff (excluding b/fast experience) - Very clean appearance throughout the hotel (excluding b/fast experience) - Excellent location for the Zoo, hire car (although book hire in advance as there is limited range kept on site) and good bus service into the city. - Food, although a littel pricey was always of good quality. Bad... more
