Good Location, shame about the tramworks outside the front but manageable. Staff very friendly and helpful.Breakfast fine and freshly cooked Room rather small and very hot. Had to open window and double glazing which made it very noisy. Lots of calling and shouting until early hours, them the bin men with their "beep- beep" came along. If we could have... more

This hotel specifically because of it's location. It was in a fantastic spot, only trouble is that when we were there the WHOLE of the front street had been dug up with repair works - which made is difficult to access the hotel as you physically couldn't drive into the street. Luggage had to be dragged for a bit. We... more

This hotel is great. It's just at the west end of Princes Street. The rooms are clean, with usual tea & coffe making facilities, multi channel TV, room service, telephone etc. All rooms en suite. The breakfast is fruit juice, cerials and fruit, then a cooked breakfst which is more than enogh to start your day. I was there for... more

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from a fab 2 day break in Edinburgh. We stayed at the Clarendon hotel and i was really pleased with my choice! When i first saw it from the outside, my initial reaction was "oh no" as its squeezed in between a couple of shops and didnt really stand out as a hotel... more

The hotel is in a great location when sightseeing and shopping around edinburgh but the staff seriously need some customer service training. I also work in a busy hotel and I know it can be a bit stressful sometimes, however, I would never purposefully be rude to customers when they haven't even done enything. The foreign man on reception was... more

This hotel is very well located in the city with most attracktions within walking distance. The rooms are a little small for my liking but are clean. The only problem I had was with a staff member called amid, he was so rude when we asked for sugestions for evening meals he just shurged his shoulders and muttered under his... more

I cant believe the good reviews for this dump. I can only say that perhaps I got a very bad room. As is happens it was musty and very grubby with tired and dirty linen and badly stained walls. I booked it for my mum and I for a weekend treat and was so disappointed. I have never walked out... more

We stayed at this hotel with another couple for 3 nights in January. Be prepared that if you are arriving in Winter months they do not leave the heating on and you will be arriving to a very cold room. Top tip - do not take your coat off, turn the raidiator on max and go straight to Ryans bar... more
