First off, our Hogmanay booking was actually at the Learmonth Travelodge, but they had decided to over sell the hotel and told us that we didn't get there early enough (despite having made the reservation in July!). A strange policy on any day, but especially on New Years... So we were shunted into the West End hotel instead, and given... More

Not particularly happy about this one. I was checked into a dirty room. When I went down to reception I didn't hear a single 'sorry' , just got new keys. Nobody told me to enjoy my stay and afterwards nobody asked if I did (that really IS important!). Room was not very clean (staff probably never heard of highdusting), linen... More

This is the second time I've stayed here and it would definitely be my main choice when staying over in Edinburgh. The rooms are really spacious and very comfortable while quite sparse on decoration but when you're only staying a night or two, who cares about the decor right? The reception/bar area is well done up and a nice place... More

The hotel is reasonably close to Haymarket station (about 15-20 mins) and much cheaper than the Haymarket Travelodge. The hotel was nice enough, rooms were pretty basic but just what you would expect from a Travelodge. The hotel was under staffed with one member of staff running reception and the bar and acting as a waiter but he was doing... More

We paid £50 for one night in a twin room. The cheapest we could find for a night out in Edinburgh. The place served its purpose although the camp beds were uncomfortable and we couldn't get a window open. Would recommend for a 1 night stay.... Not to my parents etc but if you were looking a place literally just... More

We stayed here for a drinking weekend. If this all all you want it's fine. We had triple rooms which were very basic (no hair dryer or phone). But we did only pay £21 per room per night! Very close to Haymarket Station. A good walk or £7/8 black cab ride from Waverley stn. Bar was open late, a few... More

It suited us (a crowd of drunken hens) as a place to rest our heads but the whole hotel would benefit from a deep clean and a bit of modernissation. On the up side - Staff were friendly, it was cheap and the rooms were reasonably comfortable but noisy. On the down side - the glass at the front door... More

Very good service, food good and served by pleasant staff, we ate evening and breakfast, buffet breakfast served till 1100 was a good start to the day, car park costing £3 per day, rooms were ok, and the bar was ok run by a very friendly hard working guy called Martin who also served the food with a smile, about... The rooms need serious revamp. However, if you get a good deal, it is worth staying there. It is in a really nice area near the Leith River and opposite the Museum of Modern Art, and close to the Dean village, just an easy 10-minute walk to Princess Street and Haymarket railway station. You are very close to the centre... More

We booked 2 nights in this hotel with the breakfast package included - great value at lest than £65 for three of us. We were enthusiastically welcomed on arrival. The receptionist explained the parking arrangements and happily showed us where we were on the free map, the route to the city and key landmarks in the city itself. The room... More
