This is an excellent base for touring Edinburgh !!! Although we live just down the road, this hotel proved an ideal choice to stay overnight. Service here was pretty average. Stood at the bar one night for 5 minutes with no sighting of anybody to serve! Food was ok but being located where it was meant I could walk 2 minutes & eat somewhere else.

Perfect location for a city break. However, the room was quite basic, empty mini bar, no extra pillows, not even a complimentary bottle of water. I normally get booked into Jurys in Edinburgh, so was surprised to find myself ascending up towards North Bridge to the Carlton.
