Andy from Darlington. I booked a 2 night weekend in August at this hotel, and was lucky enough to get a last minute room, as the whole of Edinburgh appeared to be full !! The hotel was comfortable, clean and very accomodating, the staff were exceptionally friendly and informative, and nothing is too much trouble for them. We stayed in... More

Do not stay here if you value your health. Dirty, dingy, unhygienic in the extreme. Couldn't be bothered to make a fuss, and there was no one around anyway. Had the feel of a low budget hostel. Great location, what a shame the owner doesn't make more of the building. We booked a room by phone, as the hotel was... More

I chose the Botanic House Hotel for a 3 night stay having looked at their website, which gives the impression of a small hotel in a great location . There is where the resemblance ends. I arrived into a reception that had a large dying fern in the corner of a small seating area with no atmosphere. A member of... More

I was really looking to our stay here as I'd read good reviews, But . . . I booked a medium sized room overlooking the botanical gardens as a bit of a treat, and the room itself was a really good size. However, the carpet was filthy - a light cream colour that was badly stained in quite a few... More

The room was very 'COMPACT' and 'NOISY' due to hotel's location on a very busy main road. The decor thoughout the hotel is very tried. Staff are extremely 'RUDE' . 'EXPENSIVE' room tarriff considering the services that were offered. In fact, I got the distinct feeling of being in an episode of 'FAWLTY TOWERS', so be warned!

I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Edinburgh. In terms of the location, it was our first time in Edinburgh and we had no problem finding out how to get there on public transport. It's literally a 5 minute bus ride straight from Prince's Street and there is a bus stop directly outside the hotel.... More

Unfortunately, our experience has not been at all pleasant as other reviewers' stay at this hotel and we are not picky guests but this hotel needs a serious makeover with its tired, worn furniture, dusty ventilation, very hard bed and a staff member who was stone-face and rather rude in behaviour. The breakfast was less than what Charles Dicken's Oliver... More

Pleased when they managed to fit us in on a last minute reservation. The hotel staff were instantly friendly and helpful. The room was bigger than the whole of my flat space put together, beautifully decorated and clean too! Yes, its a little over a mile out of town, but no big problem. There is also a bus stop opposite... More

I went to the Botanic House Hotel for a weekend away with my best friend. I can honestly say that my stay was throughly enjoyable. Our room, although being classed as a standard was very spacious, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. One comment I would make is that a full length mirror in the room would have been helpful. The... More

Stayed at the Botanic House Hotel as we were visiting Edinburgh for a wedding at the Botanical Gardens. It was very good value - a lovely room over looking the botanical gardens. The rooms are in a modern style with comfy pillows, duvet and mattress. The bathroom didn't have a bath but did have a large walk in shower with... More
