This guest house represents excellent value close to downtown Edinburgh. Highfield is an elegant Victorian house, with such features as beautiful crown mouldings inside. The breakfast room is especially attractive. Hosts John and Christine Watkins seem to know everything about the surrounding area - especially the bus schedule. An absolutely lovely hotel. Amazing breakfast and all cooked to order, not forgetting the lovely home bakes. The rooms are really clean and have every facility, even down to cotton wool and cotton buds. The location is excellent and both the proprietor and proprietess have loads of local knowledge that they are more than happy to share with you. more
