We booked two stays in St Valery's at the beginning of our trip and at the end of our trip because Edinburgh was our arrival and departure airport. The Guesthouse looked nice from the website. StValerys was very welcoming, friendly and comfortable. Charlie was excellent giving us all the info we needed and putting in those little touches which made St Valerys a pleasure to stay at :) The guest house was a little further out of the centre than we thought for pubs/bars, but only a £7-8 taxi. The owner of the guest house was very rude. The rooms were dirty- the bathrooms needed to be thoroughly cleaned out and regrouted. When I called down requesting another towel they asked why and then hung up the phone. Do not stay here, unless you want to be treated terribly. more

I found the St. Valery Guest House a pleasant place with nicely furnished quiet rooms, satelite TV and also a free wireless connection for the guests - a pleasant and unexpected surprise! We really enjoyed the stay at St Valery's last July. The breakfast is excellent though we preferred no talking the black pudding. The staff is also very helpful. The room is adequatly furnished with Digital Television. To be fair, the only problem was that the ensuite shower was too small! more

Stayed here last weekend for an international rugby test. The location was perfect for Murrayfield and for walking into Princes Street for shopping and the bars.
