This was our 1st visit to Scotland ever, We spent 3 nights at this hotel over the may bank holiday. We arrived pretty late on the Friday night, but this was not an issue, we had a room on the ground floor which was fab for us, it was clean very well presented coffee/tea making facilities, plenty of plug sockets,... Location is very nice - in old town, nearby the key museums and the university of Edinburgh. The only bemol were some works on the street that I suppose would only contribute to better comfort of later visitors)). Food and service are good. I had a chance to have a wonderful view on the mountain (from the 4th floor).

Good central position, with nearly all places within walking distance. Rooms were small but spotless and most importently for me quiet, Breakfast was great and all the staff were very pleasant and helpfull, I would definately recommend this hotel/accomadation.

I have spent four days at this hotel. All what you need. A nice, clean room. Close to the main shopping street, a short from the castle. Breakfast is more than expected for the price. A short menu with good stuff. Ideal place for those who would like to visit Edinburgh, but not to spend too much money for overnights.... More

This place is decent and comfortable enough for what it is: ex-student accommodation and one of the few central places likely to be available and affordable during the Festival or the Tattoo. Very handy for venues like The Pleasance. Would happily stay there again and it's over 30 years since I was a student.

Not a hotel, but decent ex-student accomodation, got a discount for being an Edinbugh Univ' graduate, small(ish) wet-room shower, but good water pressure, comfortable single bed, first-rate breakfast, well positioned, within walking distance of main attractions without being over-run by tourists, i was well pleased :)

Not quite sure how it can be called a hotel - it was student accomodation (or ex). The rooms were very basic with no home comforts. We had 2 rooms between 2 couples and both were the same. The rooms were very dated and needed refurbishing, the curtains actually came off the curtain rail. The bathroom - well wet room,... More

Small rooms which used to be graduate student housing, for the university, with showers that pour onto the toilets. All of which would be perhaps tolerable - it's perfectly clean - but the insult added to the injury is having to pay 5 pounds for internet access for a day (when one generally wants an hour) and then spend 10 minutes... Perfect if your after a city break, the hotel is in a great location just outside the centre of Edinburgh. Takes about 20 minuites to walk to the castle. The rooms were pretty standard, nice and warm and the breakfast was very good in the morning.. for the price defiantly worth a shout!
