Nice Hotel but not 5 star. I was on business with a colleague and we both booked a single room. Both located in the basement of the adjoining building. I think I got the better deal out the 2 of us - my colleagues room was small and cluttered with furniture. My room was a good size for a single... more

5 Star???? I think not Website utterly misleading. Bedroom - box size, bathroom tiny (couldn't even undress in it, it was that small), when having a shower full bathroom was soaked. 2 Single beds pulled together instead of double bed promised, breakfast - average, holes on our bedroom walls, no cupboard space. for a so called 5 star hotel this... more

This is a great hotel, the staff were helpful and the service was tops all the time. My husband and myself had a suite with a jacuzzi which was on the ground floor. Spacious as well as comfortable...... you could say, it was a honeymoon suite and we've been together nearly 15 years. It was a great boost to our... more

We early arrived earlier than expected (8am) but received a very warmly and offered a very nice breakfast, while rushed to prepare our room. The front of house manager was on holiday, so the delightful owner (a very individual Austrian lady) was in charge instead. Although she looked somewhat stressed as she dealt with people checking and a computer breakdown,... more

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at the Number Ten hotel. Specific points of note: it's a wonderful Gerogian townhouse building in a beautiful area of town, very close to all the activites. The staff are unfailing polite and professional, and very friendly. Breakfast was great: cooked to order, and fresh. Our bedroom was beautifully furnished, and had... more

My husband and I completed our touring honeymoon with 3 nights here. Check-in was very professional and our bags were carried to the very top floor to our room. The room was a bit cramped with the kingsize bed and massive TV but the decor was super-modern, the view was good, and the bathroom incredibly shiny with Molton Brown toiletries.... more

I had never been north of the boarder and I wish I had made the trip earlier. The reason to go was nothing special, just to relax and ensure my wife had a great time! I had searched the net for a few days and stumbled on this beauty! I arranged to fly from Cardiff via BMI Baby and started... more

Having stayed in lots of hotels as an event organiser I am completely aware of star ratings and if hotels live up to that rating or not. To say it simply this hotel is 'nice' with friendly people but I agree completely with other comments on here referring to the flash website and impressive pictures - it does not live... more

An impressive website, a 5* rating and a few reviews from satisfied guests helped us decide upon Hotel No 10 in Edinburgh ahead of a number of other 5* hotels... what an error!! On arrival at the hotel, it was clear that the 5* rating was either awarded from desk-based research or was self-awarded. The decor was pleasant and has... more

It seems what this Hotel requires is a balanced review. Of course, branding yourself five-star and having a fantastic web site tends to raise expectations. We booked a double executive room via a travel agent at a bargain price, around £100 per night. The room was actually a small suite (wall separation rather than open space/junior suite) on the ground... more
