We enjoyed our stay at the Ayden Guest House. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and Debbie was always helpful with whatever you asked of her, especially tips on finding our way around Edinburgh and booking tours for us. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy and very welcoming. We would definitely return there in future. more

Nicely decorated clean rooms with friendly staff situated a 20 minute walk from the city centre. However, the well advertised 'chef' cooked breakfast was a big disappointment... edible but that was about it! Good for a short stay but would recommend trying a local cafe for breakfast. more

My wife and I stayed at the Ayden Guest House, room #1, for four nights in August, 2008. Already when booking we felt treated with consideration and helpfulness by Deborah. This continued when we had questions as regards travel from Prestwick Airport and other matters. Our room faced the back yard and was very quiet. It was rather small, but... more

A great property, and well run business. Comfortable, simple room with good breakfast served in a one hour timeslot. A fair walk into the city centre, along road works in preparation for Edinburgh's tram system, but the property is on a quieter side street. Gay and straight friendly. I'd stay again. more

I found the Ayden Guest House In DIVA magazine, when searching for some affordable accomodation in Edinburgh. The reason for our trip was to celebrate my partner's birthday, so whilst I wanted affordable I also wanted 'special', (& gay friendly) The Ayden ticked all boxes! Firstly the e-mail correspondence prior to our trip was warm and informal, and very obliging.... more

Just returned from a long weekend in The Ayden. Deborah was a great host and was more than helpful even before our arrival with email help for booking restaurants and transportation from the airport. Her accomodation is modern and clean with no garish colours, simple and sophisticated. I found the beds fine and the rooms warm. The breakfast was outstanding... more

We recently stayed at the Ayden Guest House after reading the glowing reviews on TA. It did not disappoint. From the prompt and professional handling of our email booking, to the wonderful accomodation and outstanding breakfast, this was simply a delightful place to stay in Edinburgh. Debbie and Ines have crafted a beautiful home for their guests. We stayed in... more

Overall, this was a reasonably pleasant stay. While I've been to Edinburgh several times, this was the first time I stayed overnight, so I cannot compare the Ayden to other local B&Bs. That said, compared with other B&B experiences: I LIKED: The wonderful breakfast - truly top-notch The relatively convenient overall location (near shops) The fifteen-minute walk into town The... more

The Ayden is a great B&B in an ideal location in Edinburgh. We stayed there for three nights last month and couldn't have been happier with our stay. The house is beautifully maintained and tastefully decorated. Breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. And Debbie and Innes are perfect hosts, with great recommendations for making the most of a visit to Edinburgh.... more
