My fiancee and I stayed at the Aynetree Guest House, Edinburgh 14th - 18th April this year, for her Birthday trip. The Guest House is located approx 1.5 miles from City Centre on bus routes 44 and 5 into/from City Centre. The former route is the slightly quicker and goes up and down Princess St. Travel is very good at £2.50... more
This hotel is located in a good area close enough to all the major sights of Edinburgh. The positives are: location, large room, en suite, 24 hour access, clean and inviting. The negatives: cold rooms (ask for space heater), more of a hotel than a B & B (dont look for personal attention or interest from innkeeper), right i front... more
I read with amazement at this review. Firstly, we do not do chic. We are a traditional, victorian guest house with artefacts that are supposed to try and resemble how the house looked over 100 years ago. It is a house with character. The room in question has very good quality, stag furniture that scores a four star with visit...
Lovely place to stay, only just out of the main centre. We had our car but there is a bus stop right outside and you can easily get into the centre very quickly. We have stayed further out up to now on regular visits up to visit our daughter but Aynetree is perfect- not too far but not noisy either! Not... more
perfect guest house? You were the perfect guests.
Well where do I begin. Great room and Brian and Anne make you feel so welcome. Access to the city is so easy by bus. Brian was on hand to give tips and great advice. WARNING. If you decide to eat in the city LISTEN to Anne, we were given names of good restaurants, ignored her and ended up in... more
Thanks for the great review. I hope that you did not suffer food poisoning as three of us did at the restaurant on the royal mile (name not disclosed). I am sorry that you ate there after me giving you a long list of tried and tested restaurants. You were super guests and a wonderful representation of the nursing profession.We...
We stayed at the B&B for 10 days and just loved it! The room was as pictured on the website and very clean. The only problem I had was the fact that the light was shining through the curtains at night because of a spotlight that is directed at the house. The owners were really nice people who gave us... more
We had a very enjoyable stay in this lovely guesthouse. The room was nicely and tastefully decorated and furnished and the ensuite bathroom was very modern and had a great shower. The whole place was absolutely pristine. We both enjoyed our breakfasts - although it would have been nice to have veggie sausages with the veggie breakfast. We only met... more
I have spent Easter holiday in Edinburgh with my friends. I enjoyed staying at the guest house. Brain and Anne were very helpful and understanding. Rooms are bright, well-cleaned and within easy reach to the City Centre (Royal Mile and Castle). Thanks you guys, hope to be your guest again in the summer (this time Hiking!!!) more
Having read the other reviews on our return today, we probably would not have considered this guesthouse. However Anne and Brian were lovely, helpful and very approachable. The room we had was large and had a shower ensuite, t.v. and tea making facilities...what more do you need from a B&B? The breakfasts were second to none...a selection of cereal/porridge, juices,... more
Thank you so much for your kind words. We enjoyed having you as our guests. We were a bit alarmed to read that you may not have booked with us if you had read our reviews beforehand. We have only had two poor reviews and thankfully I was able to write a management response which enables me to tell my...
A friend and I wanted to spend New Year in Edinburgh. We went for the 4 day Hogmanay Festival. We stayed at Aynetree Guest House which was first class. A very nice room with everything you could ask for in a Guest House. Daily housekeeping. A wonderful breakfast. Help and advice on attractions, transport and guided tours. Brian and Anne... more
