I stayed in the Cluaran Guest House for a few days during the conference and then for additional few days of vacation with my husband. Warm and outstanding hospitality, beautifully designed and comfortable house highly contributed to our unforgettable Scottish experience. We would express our deep gratefulness to owners of the House for making our vacation perfect!

I stayed here in the single room as a lone female for a weekend visit to Edinburgh over the 6 Nations weekend in March. The atmosphere was great and the hostess and her husband were very welcoming, friendly and offered some great tips for my visit. The room was clean, I had my own private bathroom just across the hall,... More

This beautiful big house is funkily decorated, cosy, comfortable and makes for a lovely base to explore the city. Hearty wholesome breakfasts included and set you up for the day. Hostess Noreen is warm and charming - recommended some great restaurants and things to do. 20min walk into town. Not to forget - beds and duvets that make you feel as... More

We stayed at Cluaran Guest House for three nights and we really enjoyed our stay! We immediately felt wolcome and at home at this B&B and the hostess Noreen and her husband really took good care of us. It is a very cosy house, which is beautifully decorated and our room (Imperial) was spacious and homely with a comfy bed... More

I stayed at the Cluaran Guest House for 4 nights and felt as though I paid too little for what I received. Noreen and her husband, but mostly the former, operate the bed and breakfast in this charming mid-19th century Victorian home in a neighborhood just a brief walk's distance from Edinburgh's city center, but in an area quiet enough... My husband and I stayed 3 nights in August over Festival time and were very impressed with this quirky guest house. Its not your bog standard B&B, the decoration seems an inspired blend of bright colours beside some original fixtures. Works magnificently. Being involved in the Art business we appreciated the many original pieces of artwork dotted about the house.... More

Fantastic stay, one of the best guest houses in Edinburgh (we have become frequent visitors). We received a very warm welcome, our rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Great choice available at breakfast. Good central location, short walk into the city centre also very good bus service available.

We stayed here for a few nights last month and I have to say that I was not convinced. The welcome wasn't particularly friendly, breakfast was average, the location was okay but not brilliant. Yes, some of the rooms are big and spacious but the bathrooms are absolutely tiny, and that means you can hardly move around, you can literally... More

We stayed four nights at the Cluaran in two rooms. Both were beautifully decorated. The bathrooms are new, tasteful and all one could ask for. The house is nothing short of a monument to the graciousness, artistry and warmth of Noreen and Ali ( and their little dog Lulu). There are bookshelves in every room stocked with lovely books including... More

It's already some time that we stayed at Cluaran but we had a wonderful time there! We stayed for a week during the festival. Cluaran is situated in Brunswick at a quiet street, the best place to stay during festival season, because it is not as crowded as the city centre at that time. It is only a 15 minutes... More

We are a sophisticated 4-star guesthouse set in a period building dating from the 1860s now fully restored with original period features and our own bespoke interior style. We are located in the famous Bruntsfield Links area of Edinburgh, next to parkland and within close walking distance to the city centre, Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile and Edinburgh International Conference Centre. All our bedrooms are individually decorated in harmonious colours chosen to compliment the original period Victorian fixtures (the house dates from the late 1860s). All rooms are ensuite and have kingsize beds apart from the single which has its own private bathroom and a three quarter Victorian antique bed. In addition, all rooms are individually decorated and have free Wi-fi; flat-screen TVs; i-pod docking stations; alarm clocks; tea/coffee making facilities and an eclectic mini library to browse. Many original features have been restored to something of their former glory e.g. the stunning stained glass panel of our entrance door and sanded original floorboards. Cornices, wooden shutters and much of the original flooring have all been rejuvenated giving a fascinating glimpse into the skilled craftsmanship of the period.
