Good location close to the University with restaurants nearby. Excellent accommodation - we booked 2 large rooms with en-suite, everything immaculately clean, spacious with good facilities such as coffee/tea maker, large LCD TV. Great breakfast. We stayed at the Gladstone beginning of March & couldn't have wished for better. Huge twin room, spotless en suite, excellent breakfast, welcoming & humourous hosts. Topped off with one of the best rates we could find for that weekend and a grand view of Arthur's Seat! On a bus route into town so couldn't be easier to get around.... more

Personally I prefer hotels. B&Bs smack of blowsy landladies, cold rooms, bad breakfasts and a lack of privacy – not to mention thin partition walls, badly sited en-suites, a smell of bacon and eggs drifting up from the nether regions and those universal, horrible flowery carpets. I stayed here when the other owners ran it, I'm sure that the prwsent owners will keep up the good work. We took over the whole guest house for my husbands 40th birthday (it helps if you are on good terms with the owners)! Bedroom wise, they are very good and immaculate.
