The rooms at the Dakota are beautifully designed, the bar and restaurant are also very stylish. We loved the light fittings, shower, and sumptuous chairs. We were collected from the airport in the complementary bus which was very good but without a car the hotel is not very handy for Edinburgh. Breakfast was good but my only complaint is the... more

myself and my husband have just returned from a weekend at this hotel. We had always passed it and wandered about the mystery of this building so decided to stay when we fancied a couple of nights away and we werent dissapointed. It was faultless and the staff were so friendly and couldnt do enough for you. Having stayed at... more

Stayed for one night whilst on business. Situated on a retail park so easy to find & plentiful parking but nothing much around apart from a Tesco. Check in was quick and friendly, but on arrival one of the two lifts was out of order. Coming down to go out for the evening both lifts were broken - I was... more

I have eaten in The Grill before and was extremely impressed with the food, décor and service. This time, however, we were very disappointed. The staff all seemed to be in a daze: for each course after the first we had to attract their attention while our food was on the table to remind them to bring cutlery. The food... more

You walk into a giant dark cube from dazzling sunshine and feel oppressed by the dingy atmosphere. The reception staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful to this large group of Americans here for the Clan Gathering in Edinburgh on the Saturday and Sunday. We had been booked into the hotel by Visit Scotland. The rooms were a good size. most... more

At 1st seems impressive when you walk in. Then we were told no information about anything. No breakfast times, lunch times and no help with luggage the staff just give you a room key then let you get on with it. Very unhelpful indeed Then I went for a shower it rained down mould on me and I had to... more

An odd location near a Tesco and on approach, it's cube exterior seems strange, but once inside, you experience an eye raising decor and atmosphere. We have never stayed in such a chic place but were suprised at some of the minimalistic characteristics such as no hotel information in the room but that's just nit-picking though. The room was big... more

Stayed again at this hotel and found it to be just as good as the last time. The only down side about this hotel is its location. An ideal location if you are travelling on business, or to break up a journey as there is absolutely nothing around it. However, can I just say the deal offered which includes an... more

We loved the Dakota Hotel. It is very Modern and clean. The service was great. The food was excellent. I would recommend this for a great weekend break as South Queensferry is lovely and you can walk across the Bridge if it's a nice night. more
