Excellent value for money. It's a good place to stay while you staying. It's 15 minutes walk from the city centre. The rooms have a fair size and the guests are very friendly. The breakfast is included and it was convenient. They have private car park for people traveling by car. Recommended.

I booked this guestthouse as it stated it was close to the city centre. It wasn't. We stayed here for three nights whilst exploring Edinburgh. Our car was securely housed out back. We found that it was very central and did not need to use our car. Excellent location but they will not let your car remain parked for even an hour after checkout, in case you are planning for last day walk in city center. Breakfast was just about bearable. I paid same amount at Best Western in Portbello and was much much happier.

Had the 3-bed family room. It was designed for 4 people. Nice appointments. Not a place to spend time, but excellent value for the price. Friendly owner too. Use google map to figure out the buses. Taxi from downtown was 6.50. Take the taxi to the house, but you can talk into town or to a bus in the morning.

It is a very good choice to stay when visiting Edinburgh. Warm hospitality, clean rooms with hot water 24h, rich breakfast with a large variety. You really feel at home. Menzies Guest house is set in a neighborhood just outside of Edinburgh. It is an older home but quit adequate, the rooms are nice though well aged.
