Sandilands is a very warm and welcoming place to stay. The owners, John and Maureen were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotless , had all the touches that you would expect and the beds were very comfotable. The cooked breakfast is highly recommended! more

On our arrival the owner John was particularly unwelcoming and rude, he informed us that he was about to re-let our room because in his opinion we were later arriving (4.15 pm !!) than he was expecting. This was despite the fact that we had telephoned the previous weekend to confirm the booking. He also made some other unacceptable comments regarding... more

I booked the break as a suprise for my girlfriend and booked the four poster room. The room was nice - well furnished and clean with good furniture and facilities. Mr Sandiland could not have done more for us during our stay - was able to provide lots of information on the local area inc. places to visit and places... more

The Sandilands House in Edinburgh was a fun place to stay within walking distance of the attractions. (The bus is easy to catch as well). John made us feel very welcome and was most accommodating. The rooms might be a bit on the small side, but why would you stay in your room when Edinburgh is right there for the... more

The hospitality at this B&B was so good, that we had to feel a bit guilty for enjoying ourselves so much. Naturally, the extra tickets we were given for a wee whisky dram,... more

Had Easter break at Sandilands House and found the owners most attentive and helpful with directions and tips. The Hotel was immaculately clean and very well appointed, near to town, with off-street parking in a very nice area. Breakfast was superb. more

I totally disagree with what was said above. I spent 3 nights in the guest house and find the host very very friendly. They chat to us during breakfast and provided useful insights into the city. The room is very clean and of reasonable size. Inside the room, there is a flat screen TV, although not a big one, it... more

We stayed at this B&B for four nights and felt that it was disapointing. While the hosts were friendly at times we mostly felt that our stay was a rather large inconvience to them. When we arrieved we were given the key to our room and told it was upstairs and then given some brief informtaion (i.e which bus to... more
