Whatever you do, don't stay there, yes its cheap but my god what a hell hole. After enquiring about the 14 bed dorm we were advised over the phone that we have an en-suite bathroom and not a communal one, ofcourse when we arrived none of that was the case, after climbing about 100 stairs to reach our destination, and... more

Please go to the link below to read the full story about my experience with this hostel... http://citycentrehostelsucks.blogspot.com/ Cliff Notes: I booked a room over the telephone in advance using my credit card. They told me that I could book 2 people for one bed, and that one would pay full price and the other would pay half price. When... more

I stayed two nights in this hostel. It is very central, near the Tourist Information, 2 shopping centres and the main street: Princes Street. more

Horrendous.

Oh dear. Where to start with this place. I had a rather odd feeling of impending doom when, three hours before we were due to travel to Edinburgh, I decided to ring the hostel to check what credit card I could book in with. Despite every website telling me that the hostel accepted cards, I was informed that they don't... more

I booked a 4 bed place for 4 people in Edinburgh. I called the manager 2 twice prior to my arrival to check whether we were getting the right room (the last call was on Friday night - around 10 hours before our arrival) as we did not want to share it with other people. When we arrived it turned... more

We specifically booked a four bed dorm, as there were only 3 of us, but we want privacy. On arrival, the very unfriendly staff told us that they always advertise 4 bed dorms on the site, but you never get one and they wanted to put us in seperate rooms. After some "discussion" the 3 of us were put in... more

Stayed here for 1 night and left the next morning as the hostel was overcrowded, staff were unhelpful and unfriendly, and the rooms were basic and very small. Furthermore, they don't accept card payment and charged us a different price per night to the one quoted on the website. Was then charged £135 to my bank card 2 days later... more

From Waverley train station the hostel is only a 2-minute walk, it’s down a side street off Princess Street, but once you have found the street, your next task is to find the hostel… Only one small sign points you in the right direction - down an alley and up 4 flights of stairs! Once there, my first impressions were... more
