I am writing to combat the negative comments of the family earlier this year. As part of the family group organising a large gathering of family and friends to follow a late afternoon funeral, we of course did our research on hotels that might be suitable. We were looking for a sit down meal rather than buffet as people were... More

I had failed to book anywhere to stay in the area in advance and had to rely on our agency to book. The main part of the hotel is attractive but the bedroom section looks somewhat like a prison block. That said the interior though a bit stark is spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. I ate an evening meal... More

Not very often you get to stay at a hotel with Malcolm in the name...in what was the capital of Scotland many centuries ago...I was up there on work and had failed to book a travelodge so this venue proved perfect and easy to find...staff were friendly...the room was tidy and the breakfast was excellent (so important!) ...overall good value... The hotel is spotlessly clean with excellent staff and is in a good location. I am a very fussy eater, but the staff there went out of their way to make sure I was catered for and they even did it with a smile! I would definitely recommend this hotel and would return in there anytime. I can't understand what... More

I had the good fortune to find this Hotel on LateRooms.com. My reason was needing somewhere close to where I would be working that week. It may look dated but it is fit for purpose, the room was fine, bed very comfortable and food amazing value. The room had a radiator for heating that took a while to heat, but... More

I would rate this place beyond terrible! Was at a family funeral and just after sitting down had a member of staff (small older woman with blondish hair) harassing us....she had no manners what so ever. She wanted us to move because that table wasnt set up but there were no other tables left...she was not happy at this! I... More

Went here for my grandads funeral tea, appalled. Service was disgusting, staff with the exception of one (nice young girl) was terrible. Older waitress had a disgusting manner telling family there wasn't enough food and they would need to make more. Insulted grandchildren, asking us to move a space for her and getting angry as we Hadn't moved a space... More

Overnight stay. Rooms spotless and a nice standard. Sadly, customer service lacking in most respects. Female reception staff incredibly rude when asked for additional t.bags (as though I was interrupting their private leisure time). This was surpassed by the harriden at the breakfast dining 'experience'. 'Ordered' to fill up existing seats at tables, despite being in a family group! A... More

Stayed there during T in the Park in 2011, the bedroom was quite small, I found hair in the bath and stains on the towel.... definitely not coming back. The continental breakfast was of poor quality too...
