Hotel itself was nice & good value for money, the room was nicely decorated & clean. Thursday night all was quiet...Friday we went to a wedding, when we got back at 11ish the music from the pub below (live band) was so loud the floor was vibrating & we couldn't even hear our own tv. Stayed in the Laurel Bank Hotel for one night in July as we were at a wedding in the nearby Balbirnie House. The room was nicely refurbished and was more than adequate for a one night stay. Staff were very helpful and organised a taxi for us to take us to the hotel and back again, so all fine there.... more
I suspect this hotel makes its money on a weekend taking overflow wedding guests from the Balbirnie Hotel round the corner. During the week it really lacks atmosphere. Maybe we hit a quiet week. The bar area is clean and the staff, although there didn't seem to be many, were very pleasant. The Deucars IPA is probably the worst pint... more
