Went for first time for Sunday lunch, restaurant was busy but service was prompt on arrival. Mushroom and Bacon soup was fabulous, pate was tasty, main course chicken with BBQ sauce and cheese was divine, portion of Beef Stroganoff was small but when I mentioned this they whisked the plate away and were back within moments with more. Didn't remove... more

My partner and myself celebrated Hogmanay in Edinburgh this year, which was fantastic. We booked this hotel at the last minute and the Gilvenbank in Glenrothes turned out to be a real gem. It's a fair distance from Edinburgh but very easy to get to. The room was modern and immaculate, with a superb bathroom and power shower. I would... more

Been told so many good things about eating here .What a dissapointment ,the meal was terrible ,the starter was very basic and not worth the price stated, if it arrived as the same description on the menu then it would have been worth it , the kids sausages were made of something that was scraped off the floor no meat... more

Recently went to a Wedding Reception here and really enjoyed it. The place is spotless. Friendly staff. Nice reception room. The buffet was delicious. Outside area had tables and cover from the rain. The prices for drinks while not cheap weren't the most expensive I have encountered. Everything went without a hitch. Cannot comment on the rooms, but would think... more

Stayed at this hotel recently and found it to be an excellent base for business around Glenrothes. Rooms were pretty spacious and comfortable. Bar was huge with comfy leather settees at the massive TV. Food was really tasty and I found the staff to be very friendly and most helpful. Worth a visit if needing to stay in the area... more

As a regular business traveller and guest at the Gilvenbank it represents excellent value for money in a modern hotel. They have linked Freeview into all rooms. Breakfast is pretty good. On the downside the occasional late midweek function (the function room is beneath the bedrooms) can cause noise beyond 11pm (which is not always good if away on business) more

I have been to The Gilvenbank on many occasions for friends Weddings, for bar lunches, family birthday meals or just a sunday lunch and everytime I have been there I have had not one complaint. The staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful, the management have a very good relationship with staff, there is a great amount of respect in... more

We had our wedding at the Gilvenbank Hotel in July 2007, we could not falut a single thing, from booking our wedding (1 year before the hotel was built) the service we received, the accommodation, and the food - all was excellent, all we did was turn up and the hotel did the rest, we are still receiving feed back... more

I recently stayed overnight at the Gilvenbank Hotel and I must say I was extremely disappointed with some aspects of my stay. Check in was simple and straight forward with no probelms. The hotel bedrooms were clean, spacious and in a very good condition. It's classed as a visit scotland 3 star property. The rooms are travel lodge type accommodation,... more
