We recently had a very pleasant stay at Gladsmuir, which is run by the same family as 11 Queens Gardens in St. Andrews and has been recently purchased by them as an additional B & B (in fact, you will find Gladsmuir's website as part of 11 Queens Gardens). This home is a true "country" gem within the city boundaries. We had a huge room with large French doors leading out into the back garden area. The beds were soft and welcoming, and we had a lovely sitting area right in our room where we could read and just enjoy gazing out at the gardens. Our daughter had a smaller room with a queen bed, but it was also nicely decorated, as were the bathrooms for each room. The large sunny kitchen is delightful for breakfast, and also includes those large French doors leading to the back garden area. There is also a lovely patio area with table and chairs, so guests can sit outside for a nice cup of tea when weather permits.
