We first stayed at Aslar Guest House on a trip in March to visit our son during his Study Abroad experience at the University of St. Andrews. The home is beautiful, the location is great, but it is the owners, Stan and Mary Hastie, who are the heart and soul of this place, and make Aslar Guest House the great... more

My husband and I stayed at the Aslar Guest House and we really did experience perfection from start to finish. As soon as I put in my reservation I was contacted by phone by Stan, the owner, and we shared some information. He was really warm and kind and left such a good impression that I was even more anxious... more

This guest house is a gem. It is clean, stylish and the hosts certainly make you feel welcome. My only negative comment would be that there was quite a lot of printed signs/notes saying - please don't do this, please don't do that. The messages were basic common sense to the decent traveller - don't take a take away meal... more

My husband and I stayed at the Aslar for two nights over Easter to attend a friends wedding. It simply is the most luxurious B&B we have ever stayed at. We had room 1 - a huge bedroom with super king size bed, two leather chairs, flat screen TV, fridge and tea making facilities. The decor was lovely - more... more

My wife and I were in St Andrews for a wedding and stayed at Aslar for two nights. Everything was first class from the warm welcome and immaculate room to the fantastic breakfast (Eggie crumpets are now a firm favourite at home!). Stan and Mary have perfected the art of making their guests feel welcome from the second you arrive... more

Everything about your stay at this guest house is five star. The rooms are immaculate, the breakfast is delicious and the care with which you are looked after is second to none. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough - and based on experience would say it outweighs the 5 star hotels in the area. more

Booked for 2 nights along with 2 colleagues in St Andrews for conference. Our experience from enquiry, to making arrangements, a warm welcome on arrival and lovely, large bright rooms has been fantastic. Both Stan & Mary have been hospitable and friendly. Rooms have everything you could need and more; the location is excellent. This could be a good golfing... more

I have just spent a lovely 4 days at the Aslar as part of a wedding group. The location is perfect - within very close walking distance to everything. We had the room at the top of the stairs, with an enormous king size bed and a bathroom to match. Everything we needed was provided and Stan and Mary are... more

I've been to Aslar House on multiple trips from the U.S. for studies at St. Andrews. I suppose it's a cliche, but honestly, Aslar House really is a home away from home. Beginning with my first visit I was welcomed with astonishing warmth. I eventually brought my wife so you KNOW it was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended. If I... more

We stayed in St Andrews at this Guest House for a night at the beginning of our honeymoon, and were not disappointed. The room was a good size with high ceilings and huge windows. which gave the room a naturally light and airy feel. The bed was a good size and there was even room for a small sofa to... more
