We arrived at short notice and had such a warm welcome. The ensuite room was perfect, everything clean and tidy, exactly the way you hope for. Laurie and Hazel really are friendly, interesting, and couldnt do enough for us to make our stay a memorable one. The breakfast was superb, ask Hazel for her "how to cook a perfect poached... more
I just came back from St Andrews where we visited St Andrews University. We stayed 3 nights at at the Burness House. I am accustomed to B&B when visiting my daughter in upstate NY where she goes to college but none of the ones we stayed can be compared to the welcome we received at the Burness House . Hazel... more
Had a one-night stay at this superb location right in the heart of St Andrews. The room was excellent, the owners were most helpful, and everything that St Andrews has to offer is very close to hand - definitely recommended. more

The bedroom was clean and comfortable with adequate facilities for a bed & breakfast stay. The breakfast menu had a varied choice and was very well presented and... more
We spent four days in the company of great hosts Hazel and Laurie. Our room was very sympathetically and tastefully modernised to a very high standard, plus being spotlessly clean. We varied our breakfast choices daily and were pleasantly surprised by the high standard and efficiency of the service. The House itself is very centrally located in the heart of... more
Our experience was fabulous and I can't wait to return. The Burness House is about 3 or 4 blocks from the Old Course 1st tee, a block from the North Sea, and within a block of the shopping district. Our room was tight, with little space to spread out, but with all the beautiful golf, historic landmarks and structures, and... more
