Myself and 3 friends stayed with James and Margaret in October 2009 taking advantage of the St Andrews Winter golf deal . They were very welcoming, the location is excellent and the breakfasts were to be avoided if you were on a diet ! They are both a fountain of knowledge when it comes to golf and places to eat in... more

We would happily return to this B&B the next time we are in St Andrews if it was available. James and Margaret are delightdul hosts. When the students are in town you will have to accepts a little night noise but nothing that would stop us going back. more

Braeside House was a welcoming, comfortable and well appointed B&B and James and Margaret warm and helpful hosts. My room was roomy and warm (I feel the cold). Excellent shower (plenty of hot water and easier to adjust than many). Wonderful breakfasts! The stairs to upstairs rooms would be difficult for someone with limited moblity - but otherwise no problems.... more

To qualify the above title -- here is a B&B at the Mecca of golf, managed by a single-digit handicapper (James) who can arrange a round for you at short notice, with excellent breakfast prepared by his wife Margaret, neat room and very friendly atmosphere, and an Indian restaurant nearby -- what more can a golfer from India want ... more

Only a short 10 minute walk from the golf course and 5 minutes most from the main eating areas. The hospitality is great and welcome is even better. The breakfast is excellent and their advice on what to do is great as well. Playing golf with the owner was also quite a delight and your time here is worth every... more

I stayed at Braeside house for 9 days. James and Margaret Yule are wonderful hosts. James is a keen golfer and so can give a golfing visitor great tips. He arranged for a local ballot time on the Old Course for us to play together. The BandB is well situated, being a 5 minute walk into the heart of St.... more

This was our 4th visit to St Andrews, so we are very familiar with the town and the golf. Braeside House's location is ideal for visiting the towncenter and getting to the courses. Margaret and James are terrific hosts, and the food they prepare is very good. Our room was very nice and clean. We will be back many times... more

Steve Thanks for the lovely things you said about your stay with us. The main reason we do B&B is to meet interesting and nice people from all over the world. It was a pleasure to have you and Russell as guests. Take care James & Margaret

My sister and I had a short break at Braeside and wanted a good value, comfortable guest house. Having read previous reviews we had no hesitation in booking. Our room was very comfortable and the huge en suite was spotless with lovely towels, face cloths etc. We couldn't have been made more welcome. Forget the expensive hotels - go to... more

We enjoyed our brief stay, which was for a wedding. We appreciated the email prior to departure regarding arrival times and any special requests we may have. Both rooms were lovely, clean, nice tea/coffee facilities with china mugs. James and Margaret are very welcoming and well organised - we enjoyed a full breakfast. A great short break for us. more
