Be wary of this B&B! After phoning from overseas and speaking with the proprietor prior to booking we were ensured this B&B was within "only five minutes" of town but upon arrival into St. Andrews, we discovered that they are over a 15 minute drive outside of town (and their Main Street, St. Andrews address is very deceiving as well)!!... more

Our stay in St. Andrews was excellent! We will recommend this B&B to all our friends! From the beginning we knew that we had not chosen wrong our accomodation. As soon as we arrived at the Hawthorne House Bed and Breakfast in Strathkinness (a five-minute drive from St. Andrews), we knew we were in good hands. Proprietor Ann Vermer was as warm and welcoming as can be; our room was clean, with a comfortable bed and a decent-sized bathroom; even the breakfast menu was a cut above, offering eggs... more
