I am presently sitting in my bedroom at this hotel, struggling to sleep. On the 4th floor but can hear thumping music - probably a wedding. This wouldn't ordinarily bother me but I am feeling lousy with flu. In addition, the rooms aren't cleaned properly - have complained to reception at least 3 times. Prices for food are extortionate and... more

Noise noise noise noise noise, don’t do it.... If you like to sleep in your hotel rooms don’t book this one! We stayed one night the hotel is well presented and fresh rooms are faultless but the Hotel is so very noisy its right next to a 24hr garage and M&S food store that also appears to be open around... more

The review posted is sadly not consistent with the guest’s complaint to the hotel. As indicated in previous management responses, in any business things can go wrong from time to time, and TripAdvisor is one great way to help the business make those every day improvements to our customers’ experiences, as well as generating genuine reviews of the hotel that...

Stayed one night at Glasgow Pond in September. Its a bit out of the city centre but has ample free car parking right at the door. Nice location - Byres Road a short taxi ride or longish stroll. Liked the decor and the rooms. No hassle to get out of rooms even though we were a little late (after 12).... more

The pond hotel has staff problems, not in the quality of the staff, but in the quantity of the staff. Most of the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Our first days stay went belly up, when we got to our room. The room 325 looked great when we first entered, then i looked out the window.I had read reviews... more

We have been staying at this hotel for 4 nights a week for the last 7 weeks. This is a good hotel from many perspectives, but the very best attribute is the friendliness and efficiency of all the staff. Not one staff member, in the whole of our stay, treated us with anything other than courtesy, efficiency and a friendly... more

Myself and my fiancee stayed here for 2 nights while attending arsenal and celtic match in champions league. Its located about 4 miles outside the city but is serviced by the no.66 bus which will bring you right into town. Its £1.35 single. All day travel on bus in glasgow only £3.50. Room is nicely decorated but bathroom is a... more

I stayed here with my family and partner for my graduation. The hotel outside doesn't look fancy but it is the best hotel have ever stayed in. The reception area is lovely, very efficient check-in (offered papers etc). Large car park so has plenty of spaces for everyone and has a pond next to it for a nice walk (keeps... more

We were charged double the going rate in this hotel, as there were very few rooms left in Glasgow on that particular night and we arrived quite late from Paris. Their tariffs were not clearly advertised. The hotel itself is also very second-rate and barely clean. Stay away! more

Management response from

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on the hotel. Unfortunately our records do not indicate anyone paying "double the going rate" as your feedback indicates. The hotel operates a pricing policy of flexible daily pricing, which effectively delivers greater discounts at times when there are more rooms available and withdraws these discounts when the hotel's supply of bedrooms...

My husband and I stayed one night at this hotel in Glasgow. I'm a fairly light sleeper so always take ear-plugs whenever I stay at hotels. We happened to be staying on a weeknight and I was woken at 6am in the morning by the symphony of slamming doors - this went on until 7:30am when the frequency slowed down.... more

This hotel is not really located "minutes from Glasgow", as some online information suggests. It's a good 20 minutes bus ride from the city centre, and even the Byres Road is a longish walk away. The hotel is next to a dual carriageway and faces a petrol station on one side, and a large hospital on the other. The whole... more

I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at The Glasgow Pond Hotel. It's a shame that breakfast seems to have been a disappointment and I'm sorry for that. The team will concentrate on getting right the aspects of service that you've highlighted. The coffee machine at breakfast is designed by Tchibo and grinds coffee beans to provides...
