A lovely, charming place in Glasgow's beautiful West End - probably the best choice out of the mid-range hotels and guesthouses. The rooms are newly decorated and quite stylish (although the renovations don't seem to have extended to the halls), the beds are comfortable and bathrooms are new and spotless. The staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was very... more
Stayed here as Glasgow was very busy with a conference, a piping competition and some overflow from the Edinburgh Festival. Normally I would stay more centrally, but this was all I could afford on my budget. Room was nicely decorated, lovely bathroom. TV reception was a bit dodgy on some channels, and dispenser for shampoo and showergel. No lift -... more
We were in Glasgow for 2 nights prior to driving North. I was referred to this property by a hotel around the corner, where we have stayed before, but was fully booked this time. This Edwardian Mansion is exquisite in every detail. Five minutes’ walk from the Botanic Gardens, and ¾ mile from the College of Piping, its location is... more
In Glasgow for a wedding, I booked 3 rooms, two of which overlooked the street. Despite being so near to a major thoroughfare in a large city, we could sleep well with the windows open. The rooms were spacious and well decorated, and well respected the architecture of this Glasgow mansion. Good cooked breakast with adequate choice. more
A gorgeous terrace townhouse with a homey feel. Extremely approachable and helpful staff; friendly pooch at home on the stairs. Plush colours and carpets. My vast room had 15-foot ceilings, walls painted deep crimson, tall bow windows, elaborate cornices, three beds (a family room, but serving as a single for me) , and a good, clean bathroom built into one... more
My son, cousin, and I stayed here for 3 nights. We were very happy. My cousin had a single room at the very top, which he was happy with. My son and I were in the basement in a room with 2 double beds. Our room was huge, well decorated, and clean. The beds were great, as was the ensuite... more
We stayed at the Belhaven for one night and wished we had stayed longer, but the hotel was fully booked. The staff was pleasant and welcoming, and our room was nicely decorated and spacious, with 2 very comfortable double beds, and a large bathroom. The full breakfast was excellent. We would definitely come back! more
I booked a room in this hotel for 50 pounds a night, two weeks in advance. On arrival i was informed that my booking had been cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances". I was shocked and stranded. This was inspite of having informed the owner, at the time of booking, that i am visiting for an exam on the next day.... more
an e mail was sent 9 days prior to arrival which advised the room previously booked had to be canceled due to essential maintenance. According to our records the e mail address was correct and had been used to forward the original confirmation only 3 days prior. I would be horrified if my staff or I left someone 'stranded', on...
We stayed 2 nights at The Belhaven Hotel. On arrival we were warmly greeted and directed to our room which was on the top floor for the 1st night and the 2nd floor for the 2nd night. The top floor room was warm, freshly decorated with a fab deep red colour and really comfortable bed, the en-suite was quite small... more
