I do stay here regularly, as the bedrooms are lovely and clean and very comfortable. No TVs in the rooms but that does not bother me. The bar downstairs is an absolute delight with real ales, fine lagers - Budvar, Peroni and Tennents' - and a good selection of malt whiskies. On the Tuesday night I stayed here, the restaurant... Babbity Bowster is a nice place for a quiet drink and a bite to eat (simple and traditional Scottish dishes served in the bar area downstairs), tucked in a side street between High Street and the Merchant City. There are frequently musicians in attendance, playing traditional Scottish music. A few months ago I ate in the upstairs restaurant, which was... More

I went in to Babbity Bowster last night (27th Aug 2011) for a pint with a friend. The barmaid served us 2 pints of Budvar and one of the pints was about an inch short of the top and the other was 2 inches from the top, about a quarter pint in my reconning, she informed us that the barrell... More

When you stay here you have to keep in mind that the main thing you're paying for is the fantastic location. Our room (no.3) was basic and clean(ish) - I did find a lot of stray hairs in the shower and on the toilet. The bathroom in general was not of a good standard in our opinion. But my main... More

We stayed at Babbity Bowster in May for a 30th birthday weekend. The moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly faces and helpful staff. The hotel is situated on a quiet street in the heart of Glasgow. The central location enables you to experience the most of what Glasgow has got to offer at a great price. We had... More

The bar menu is really great for a tasty bite to eat and the restaurant offers fine dining at very reasonable prices. Super friendly staff ensure that you have a fantastic stay. I couldn't recommend... More

I always stay here when on business. Relaxed atmosphere great food with traditional scottish fare ie Cullen Skink, Haggis and neeps etc. No TV in rooms ( a bonus). No piped music. Good selection of ales and whiskys. Breakfasts also to delight in. Will continue to return. Close to restaurants in Merchant part of city. More

A few olde guys playing second fiddle to each other , not in tune with each other and a flautist/penny whistler making a racket too is not my idea of music indeed it was complete cr**. The food selection is basic too and if you just want a coffee thats fine but don't expect a cake or biscuit. I went... More

The rooms are basic and a good price for Glasgow. The staff were friendly and helpful, but be warned, some North Americans experience problems with their credit cards so have cash handy to pay. The location is excellent, as long as you don't mind being above a bar at night. The food was good and we loved Fraser (the guy... More
