Your experience probably differs a lot depending on which of the many blocks you get booked into. I was in Chancellors Hall where the rooms (all en suite) are grouped into flats (six rooms to a flat) - as well as the rooms every flat has a tv lounge and kitchen area with two ovens, two fridges, a microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. I stayed 8 nights here in July 2007. Sprawling downtown campus with several buildings. Clean building and nicely landscaped property. Paid 27 GBP for a single private room and breakfast. Shared washroom facilities; not the usual stalls that you find in some residences, but a proper bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower where you could lock the room while you showered. There is no store nearby though so you have to plan ahead if you are going to buy things like newspapers, salads or snacks etc at night. If you are daytripping you will need to buy stuff out of town because by the time you get back to Glasgow most of the shops will be closed.

The only thing that concerned me a little was security. I was on the ground floor and the windows had no screens and swung open, and there were signs everywhere saying...
