I had a very nice two-night stay at the Ambassador in Glasgow. The hotel is well situated for the West End, just a short walk to the Botanical gardens, Glasgow University, Kelvingrove Art Museum and close to the Hillhead tube stop. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The single room was comfortable and quiet. The hotel features a wireless network... more

I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel overnight on a busness trip. The quiet location in the west end of Glasgow is very pleasant - close to the Botanic Gardens and the impressive buildings of Glasgow University. I was lucky enough to get an 'upgrade' to the adjacent Ambassador apartments but my colleague was more than happy with his room in... more

Our family stayed here for three nights and had a very unpleasant experience. There were many problems. The staff was surly; check in was an hour later than was listed on our confirmation; the bathrooms were moldy; we were asked to pay the bill ahead of time, etc. However, what motivated us to submit this review was the fact that... more

A great hotel with a great location. We were in the middle of the west end yet the hotel was very quite. City centre is only 2 stops in the tube. Rooms were very clean and very well furnished. Could definately reccommend this hotel. worth a visit. On our departure we noticed there were self catering apartments next door to... more

Extremely small cramped room. No elevator, so if you're traveling with luggage you will need to haul it up and down stairs yourself. Zero atmosphere. This was much more like a B&B than a hotel and not a very nice one. The location is close to the West End which is a plus if that's something you're looking for, but... more

My wife and I stayed for a University re-union weekend. Great location for the west end - Byres Rd, Uni, Museums, Art galleries, Botanical Gardens, right next to the BBC. Adequate off-street parking. Lots of locks and security suggest petty crime a problem, so make sure your car etc is locked. Nice, very clean rooms and everything looked new-ish and... more

Stayed here for 4 nights with my girlfriend in June 2004, got to say, we hated it. I thought the staff were rude and abrubt and as we were forced to pay up front which i thought pressured us a little. It's clean, looks smart from the outside but feels a little old fashioned (not in a good way) inside.... more

Stayed for one night on 17 April 2004 and had no complaints at all. Staff were curteous and polite. The rooms were very clean and well decorated, although our room could have been slightly bigger. There was also a car park to the rear of the building at no extra charge. City centre was nearly 2 miles from hotel so... more
