This is not a new hotel and now needs updating. Having said that this hotel is in an ideal location in the city centre. The hotel is situated very close to the Glasgow Concert Hall and additionally within a couple of hundred yards of Buchanan St, Buchanan Galleries and Sauchiehall St which all boast excellent shopping facilities. A multistory car... more

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay with us. I am glad the breakfast and cleanliness of the Hotel proved favourable. I am also very pleased to advise that the Hotel is just about to embark on the Holiday Inn Express re-launch programme, which amongst many things will mean all of our bedrooms are...

I stayed in this hotel in May this year. The rooms are basic and clean but not much room so I wouldn't want to spend more than a couple of nights. Breakfast was basic but as part of the room rate cannot grumble. Main point to highlight if staying in this hotel is that is really noisy. The underground and... more

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay with us. I'm terribly sorry you were disturbed by the underground noise. We can at times hear the underground, as the route runs under the Hotel, the saving grace however is that the trains luckily don't run over night. I do hope you choose to stay in...

Stayed here for one night in mid August. Hotel is well located. Rooms aren't altogether clean but for 1 night might be worth it. A step up from Travel Lodge and a step down from the Holiday Inn next door. more

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay with us, I'm tempted to ask if you'd like to supersize your next stay. I'm not quite sure about the 'rooms not altogether clean' comment and as you'll see from previous reviews this is something we pride ourselves in, I'd be more than happy to discuss this...

Holiday Inn Express Glasgow City Centre – Theatreland is a more than adequate place to stay in Glasgow. It is very close by to the Buchanan Bus/Coach Station so travel from the airport to the hotel is dead easy. I booked on line in fact from a foreign web site dealing in accommodation and ended up paying in Euros for... more

Dear Reviewer, Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on your stay with us. Yet again I was thrilled to read that the Hotel cleanliness features highly. I'm sorry if you were mis-led into believing we were closer to the SECC and I'll review all websites to check on the directional information held. I do hope you...

I selected the HI Express for the relatively cheap price and prebooked online for the final 2 nights of a 2-week trip. PROS: The staff were very nice and helpful, and assured me that my room was better than my sister's room in the Holiday Inn right next door. I'm not sure this was true, but the room was perfectly... more

Pros: - welcoming and friendly reception staff.  - rooms are basic but clean and well maintained. - central location, close to main shopping area and the bus terminal (Buchanan Bus Station).  Cons: - I paid the weekend advance purchase rate of £69 which is good enough value, however the hotel's full standard rate of around £90-£100+ wouldn't represent good value... more

We booked a Holiday Inn Express and expected a certain level of service and quality and found that this hotel met our expectations. It was a one night stop in Glasgow - the hotel was basic but clean. The rooms were small as was the bathroom (a bit like a cruise ship cabin), and the mattress was a little stiff... more

First impressions were very impressive when we arrived earlier than the recommended check in time, our room was ready and staff appeared to be very pleasant. We were also impressed with the security in place. Rooms are compact and clean, but once we opened the window it was like have a turbine in the background, we couldn't work out what... more

This hotel is in a great location for exploring the city. Easy access to train and bus stations, close to Buchanan Galleries for shopping. I stayed one night on my way to Oban and was very pleasantly surprised. Everything was ready on my arrival and the 2 gentlemen on Reception were very friendly and welcoming. As a woman travelling alone,... more
