What a gem of a place. I'm normally a little wary of booking places blind over the web but neccessity forced me to do so this time, and it's fair to say that The Alamo has restored my faith completely. The setting is fantastic, overlooking the Kelvingrove museu and the beautiful university. The accommodation itself is immaculate, get room 3... more

My Wife and I stayed at the Alamo both at the start and at the end of our 'West Highland Way' walk in June - July 2007. We had flown up to Glasgow and had been victims of the terrorist attack on the airport. We arrived with no baggage (still at the airport) a little shocked and weary. Steve gave... more

Emma and Steve are certainly going to be "victims" of their own good work and effort -- I'll bet lots of folks will want to return to the Alamo each time they're in Glasgow. Easily the best B&B experience we've had in the UK. When there was a problem with a particular room not being ready in time (repairs to... more

I have recently come to Glasgow to work for six months. While I was trying to locate a flat to let during my assignment, I stayed at the Alamo Guest House for five days. This was my first time in Glasgow and was worried about anything and everything under the sun. However, upon my arrival to the Alamo Guest House,... more

In a word... Superb! My girlfriend decided to surprise me by booking a night here at the Alamo guest house in the west end of Glasgow. I'm not really one for surprises but this is definately and exception. After work we checked in and were met at the door by the owner Stephen and his wife Emma who immediately made... more

We spent two nights here. The guest house is clean and the owners have made great efforts to restore the place (the breakfast room is amazing!). We stayed in a downstairs room and, despite the fact that the owner says this is actually at street level, it still felt like a basement room, accessible via a narrow flight of stairs.... more

I took my wife to Glasgow for her birthday and stayed at The Alamo Guest House for 2-nights. The house is situated in the West End of Glasgow overlooking a lovely park and about a 5 minute walk from the Kelvingrove Museum. The Transport Museum and University are also just a short distance away. Whilst there are main roads nearby,... more

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the Alamo Guest House. The guest house is conveniently located next to the Kelvingrove Art Museum and in-between downtown Glasgow and the West End (both were within walking distance of the inn). We originally booked a standard double room with shared bathrooms for 48 pounds a night. When we got there,... more

Adrian & Diane Hewetson Jan 2008. Two nights spent at this excellent facility were truly memorable. The close proximity to both airport and city centre as well as all road networks make this a great choice for any type of stay in Glasgow. The building itself has been beautifuly restored by the Alamo's owner Steve and he and his staff... more

This is a small hotel with a lot of style. The choice of music at breakfast, the quality of the croissants, the lighting and interior design are all very carefully chosen by people with excellent taste. The hosts are lovely - knowledgeable and helpful - and will engage with you to whatever extent you wish. The view over the park... more
