Stayed 17 May for two nights- Couple, one room B&B- £196- one of many costs from the internet and cheaper than the price achievable on the MacDonald resort web site by using some promo codes; still expensive for what it is. Any way checked in – first room on the ground floor by the fire exit that was used as... More

Spent 3 nights at this hotel in early May. Very comfortable, well appointed rooms. Breakfast buffet was good and plentiful. The hotel was busy during this holiday weekend but there were no queues for tables and the waiting staff were very friendly and efficient. Used the spa and also found staff to be polite and helpful . Location is very... More

We stayed here last year for a stopover on the way north so we were happy to do the same again. However on entering our room we noticed a bad smell & saw straighaway the toilet wouldn't flush properly. It was a smaller room than before & tired. We phoned reception & they immediately transferred us to a better, bigger... More

We stayed in the Aviemore Inn Resort and for £51 for a twin room it was real good value for money. The room was clean although a bit dated it was exactly what we needed, a clean tidy comfortable room.

I had previously stayed at the Highlands Hotel and decided this time to book an executive room. One of the main reasons that I decided to book this room as the website which I made the booking showed the executive rooms containing a sofa. Upon checking in I was told by the receptionist that none of the executive rooms contained... More

We stayed at the 4* Highlands Hotel in the Macdonald Resort in room 2226 with two children from the 4th to the 7th of May 2013. The room was clean and everything in the room was done to a high standard. In fact every day, we appreciated the location of our room as it was so close to the iindoor... More

There are many good things about this hotel; cleanliness, quality of food and service, comfort of rooms. But there are a few things that irritate because they would be easy to put right. The lift does not align with the corridor, sometimes too high sometimes too low, so our elderly relative tripped over every time. The lift doors remain open... More

Almost didn't book after reading oither tripadvisor's comments. We really enjoyed our stay, very good, staff couldn't be more welcoming. and helpful. Room spacious but we didn't know we had been upgraded. Best breakfast , good buffet with plenty of variety, and HOT - definitely exceeded our expectations. Staff very attentive. We will return.

Asked for room suitable for my husband who is in a wheelchair. given room which required four sets of heavy fire doors and 3 lifts to get to Restaurant! Aspects Restaurant food was very poor, especially breakfast. Toast arrived soggy and discoloured and when crispy toast was requested we waited 10 minutes to be presented with blacken bread! Stayed here for one night and disappointed. Room dated and very small and request for non feather bedding ignored! Noisy rooms also as other guests using fire doors as exit and entrance to hotel. Reception staff very helpful and service at breakfast was good, though food warm rather than hot. Dined at Giovannis in the aviemore inn and while the... More
