Spotlessly clean, good showers a very well stocked kitchen (but the pub next door is even better). The beds are comfy, everything this type of trip requires, freindly staff and as I have said the pub next door sells the best food in Aviemore!!!!!! more

Reasonable for money, watch the bottom rooms if you want a sleep in, bit noisy around the hallway next to kitchen in the morning :) Off the main road, tucked away but only 5-10 mins walk from the centre part of town! Next door pub is a bit on the pricey side for backpackers but you can find some other... more

Stayed here 7th & 9th August. Bunk was comfy, nothing wrong with shower and the kitchen is well equiped. Nigel also went that extra bit by storing my personal stuff while I was away overnight on the 8th. Ideal location not only is it next to the pub but it's close enough for a walk to town centre. So a... more

We, a group of 5 on motor bikes, stayed one night in the Bunkhouse. Nothing wrong with the place, food and beer nearby (Old bridge Inn), places to sit outside and have a drink, good shower, friendly staff .... what more do you need? One remark in general for all the bunkhouses and youthhostels: remove the bars or boards on... more

Location is excellent (down by the river). Very close to town centre (3 minute walk). The facilities were perfect for a group of our size - kitchen, drying room, and decent bathrooms in each bunkroom. They also have a great pub right next door which does brilliant food and ale. Would highly recommend the Aviemore Bunkhouse for large and small... more

we would have loved the opportunity to stay here however after only 2 emails it became clear that we were not welcome. this was evident of the additional 10pounds per person per night increase plus the 25 pounds per person fee that was asked for in case we damaged anything. despite trying to explain that we were not a bunch... more

"Civilised stag parties" some sort of oxymoron, surely. This cannot be truthfully called a review of the bunkhouse as the writer did not in fact stay here. My attitude to stag parties has hardened over the past four years due to general discriminatory attitude to the bunkhouse and other guests. As such we have a distinct policy in handling bookings...

We are all experienced hostellers over many years going away every month as a group& had been looking forward to staying in what is meant to be a 4 star hostel. However we were disappointed - as were another large group staying at the same time. On the plus side, the rooms are clean & all ensuite. Linen & towels... more

I stayed with three friends for three nights in aviemore in order do get two days of skiing on Cairngorm Mountain. The room had 6 bunks, a very nice en suite (two separate rooms for toilet and shower), electical supply, it was warm, the beds were comfortable enough with clean sheets and duvet so no sleeping bag needed. There were... more

Friends and I have just come back from our stay at the Aviemore Bunkhouse. What a location to access the mountains and all outdoor activities! Booking easy, staff friendly and funny! Room brilliant, own bathroom, bed linen and towels at no extra charge! Endless hot showers after a hard day on the hill and it is not expensive. I would... more

This was one of the worst experiences that I have ever had! My hubby and I were married in Scotland and for our honeymoon we travelled about exploring the sites. We ended up in Aviemore one night. We were on a budget and I wasn't familiar with a "bunkhouse" to begin with so I thought it would be a good... more

It is disappointing to read negative reviews from guests who are not willing, at the time, to speak to either myself or a member of staff if there is something wrong. To clarify Nightmare's points, the bed used in the private room is a double bed, 5' x 6' 6" and is only 12 months old. The showers have concative...
