We have just stayed at the Fairwinds Hotel for 2 nights on our tour of Scotland and really enjoyed it. We had a very spacious, comfortable room and the location of the hotel is perfect. The owners, Alison and Lindsay, made us feel very welcome and gave us lots of useful information on the area. We enjoyed sitting outside by... more

Initially we were surprised as it was tucked away from the main road and did not have any views to speak of. The service was brilliant, they went out of their way to cater for our unusual dietery demands. The room was huge and had cooking facilities. The lovely conservatory overlooking the garden had a selection of music, games and... more

We were heading to aviemore for a snowboarding holiday to celebrate my husbands 30th. I read the great reviews for this hotel but was still unsure how we would enjoy a small, quiet hotel, we usually stay in big chain hotels!! On arrival the owners made us feel exceptionally welcome, over the 3 days we enjoyed thier company as much... more

We stayed at Fairwinds early in the New Year and had a fantastic time. Welcoming, friendly, helpful with lots of personal touches. Our room was just right, large, comfortable and warm - it was minus 8 at night! The food is perfect and the breakfasts ideal. Great setting - just far enough away from the madness that is Aviemore but... more

After only deciding at short notice to go away for a few days over the new year holiday we checked on Trip Advisor as it has never let us down yet. Fairwinds came highly recommended and justifiably so. It was the coldest temperatures for over ten years yet we were nice and warm, the rooms were well above average and... more

Made a last minute booking to stay at the Fairwinds after spending a day in Aviemore. Checked out Tripadvisor and it looked a no-brainer. Can honestly the say the reviews are bang on - the place is great, and as with most small hotels which get great reviews you know why - the owners - they are fantastic. The accomodation... more

My husband & I have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Scotland which commenced with a 3 night stay at Fairwinds. Used to staying at larger 4 star 'chain' hotels, choosing a smaller hotel like Fairwinds was a significant change for us. We'd made the decision to stay here having read previous reviews on trip advisor & we were... more

We have just returned after a 2 night break at Fairwinds Hotel. The hotel can only be described as clean, welcoming and friendly, with excellent food. The service was superb, Alyson and Lindsay are fabulous hosts We stayed in the Cairngorm room which was spacious and spotlessly clean The food was outstanding, fresh home cooked produce, lovely choice. Can't add much to what other reviewers have already posted. The accommodation is first class, the food is excellent and Alyson & Lindsay are great hosts. Plenty to do around Carrbridge, only complaint was the weather (and that didn't spoil our enjoyment) more
