My wife and I stayed for one night in June and we found the facilities to be excellent. Unfortunately, nobody told us the Internet password was written in the Guest Book and, as I couldn't find it, I decided to rang the bell (the sign below said "ring for assistance"). The time was 10:30 PM. The owner came 10 minutes... More

On a golfing weekend in the Aviemore area of the Scottish highlands, my hosts booked me into the Old Ministers House. What a choice. From the moment I was greeted by the proprietor Shelagh McNeil, I knew I was in my kind of hotel. The entire house was immaculate. The decor and furnishings were perfect. My room was huge, with... Beautiful house in a lovely location. Facilities were great everything you could ask for. The negative was the hostess who was less than friendly, we were greeted with "did you get lost" as we were later than we were expected, as a group of 8 we were not allowed to come for breakfast together we had to eat in 2... top of the range B and B everything has been thought of to make your stay as comfortable as possible, cannot fault the food or accommodation, only downside is having a breakfast time fixed to the minute, which is not really 5 star, however that aside, the B and B was as good as you can get

This was our second visit to the Old Minister's House and we are planning on going back again. The house has recently been refurbished and is even more attractive than it was before. Breakfast was excellent, with a different choice of fruit in the mixed bowl each morning and I'd particularly recommend the homemade apple and plum compote which was... More

We only stayed for one night. We were greeted by the owner Shelagh and the smell of a peat fire in this lovely, tastefully decorated house. Our room was upstairs, and it was roomy, bright & spotless with an ensuite. Lots of nice touches like sherry in the room & homemade biscuits. There was a modern TV & DVD in... More

Nothing poor to say about our stay at the Old Minister's House. 1st class all the way. Shelagh was attentive and helpful. Although this was our 4th stay in Aviemore the restaurants she suggested we try, which we hadn't before, were very good. Breakfast was most enjoyable and cooked fresh to your order which meant it came out piping hot... More

Just had a fantastic nights stay. A warm welcome and a quick tour of the house. The room was spotless with a very comfy bed. A great selection of teas and coffee. The bathroom was also spotless and very modern. The icing on the cake was definitely the breakfast in the morning. A huge selection of choices. I only wish... More

We stayed at The Old Ministers House from 15th - 18th April this year. We did not know what to expect as most of the reviews are really positive on Trip Advisor but some are extremely critical. When we got there we found Shelagh to be very helpful and supportive - advising us where to go to eat (we didn't... More

I visited the Old Minister's House last weekend and stayed one night. I had previously visited about 9 years ago and thought it was nice then but Shelagh has made real improvements and the rooms are truly lovely. I booked online and knowing that it would be busy in Aviemore as it was Easter holidays I also booked dinner. I... More
