We went to the Hotel for a meal on our annual holiday to Scotland. 6 adults and 2 children. The food on the menu has not changed in at least five years and is predictable. Just spent the best New Year ever at the Cairngorm Hotel in Aviemore, had the best time ever. We had the most dreadful meal here. I ordered veal casarole and was given beef. The staff were very unhelpful and not at all interested in resolving the situation and insisted it was veal. My girlfriend was also disapointed with her tuna which had been cooked to within an inch of it's life due to it not being particularly fresh. more

The Caringorm Hotel in Aviemore is a dream. Right across from the train station, it looks like a miniture castle. We have stayed there many times, both in summer and in winter. The rooms are nice, though a little dated. The staff is competent and professional and always glad to help. AND the food at the resturant cannot be beat.... more

Just spent a week at the Cairngorm Hotel in Aviemore for a walking/scrambling holiday in the Cairngorms. What a wonderful hotel - clean, warm, beautifully laid out, charming staff, delicious food, and not too expensive.
