It's a great place, and the owner is willing to help you find your way to places of great natural beauty such as Dunnet Head and Dunnet Bay, which are really near by. We stayed at Valleyview so that we could visit John O'Groats and take a day trip across to Orkney. Location wise it couldn't be better to catch any of the 3 ferry trips to Orkney, with John O'Groats(the furthest away) only a 20 minutes drive. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay at Valleyview. It was a very nice, modern and clean B&B. The owners were both very friendly and the room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated with a nice bed and bathroom. Whilst we were having breakfast a 6 day old lamb wondered in, it was so cute! A short drive into Thurso... more

This is an excellent place to stay. There is a purpose-built guest wing with three en-suite bedrooms. Guests will have a warm welcome from the young and enthusiastic couple who run this B&B. We had a twin room for £50 for the night. The decor was plain, uncluttered and modern. It was a relief not to have dusty china dogs... more
