The room was quite small, but very clean, tidy, and efficient. The elevator was a nice surprise. No A/C, but it's probably only rarely needed at the northern tip of Scotland. Excellent food and service for evening meals as well as breakfast. For a small hotel in a small town, it exceeded our expectations. more

Mackays was a superb hotel, with awesome food, great staff and lovely rooms that were furnished with great taste. A wonderful atmosphere was provided at dinner, with great choices and a full wine list. Breakfast was very good too! Highly recommended! more

Wonderful receptionist who was extremely helpful and personable (Jennifer). Great bunch of staff who were freindly and professional. The owner was the perfect host who ensured that his customers were being looked after.
