The bunkhouse is a brand new purpose built structure, which is perfectly suited to groups, although the kitchen is slighly small for more than 20 people. A single sink & one 6 ring cooker could be improved upon. Rooms are warm and comfortable and the drying room and showers were excellent. On some previous Scottish winter meets it was 'de rigueur' to miss an evening wash or shower, whatever the consequences, but there's no excuse here! Lynda, the owner, is attentive in a 'school teacherish' sort of way and very helpful, especially when I left one of my climbing ropes behind! The nearby hotel is pleasant if you want a bar and a game of pool. The village shop is a little further afield but is absolutely amazing. What they cram in such a small space is unbelievable. They even have a good used book shop. In the locality is Wolf Trax, a superb mountain biking centre (2 miles) with superb red & blue runs - highly recommended.
