Firstly, I have never written a review on trip advisor before, but felt compelled to make sure people know the truth about this hotel before booking. I wasn’t expecting total luxury for my £60 BB for 1 night, but I certainly wish I had checked back into the Strathness Guest House for my stay for around the same price. While... more

We visited Inverness to shop for new clothes for our wee boy going back to school. Location and price were the most inportant factors and we received both from the Royal Highland. Parking may be tricky but you will get a place, just persevere. It is right next to the Eastgate Centre & M&S so the wife is happy and... more

The hotel was wonderful. We stayed here during a 3 day stay in Inverness. The hotel is located within walking distance to the pedestrian zone. It is located beside the train station. There is also a taxi stop directly left of the hotel. The hotel is the old Victoria train station. Our room, 103, was VERY spacious. We got a... more

Just come back from a weekend stay at the Royal Highland with my husband and some friends. The hotel is old and full of character. A very difficult building to maintain I would imagine. It is situated next to the train station but we never heard any noise, and it is central for everything. The bedrooms are very clean and... more

I stayed in this hotel for one night, on the night before the Loch Ness Marathon. All I needed was a clean, comfortable room that was good value and in a good location. That's exactly what I got. I was very impressed by the quality of the room which, though small, was immaculately clean with brand new fittings and an... more

don't be fooled by the wide sweeping staircase, that is as good as it gets, only 3 parking spaces, dour uninterested staff, rude bar staff and our room had a sink wide crack in the bathroom, avoid at all costs more

booked to stay for three nights. On arrival were told that a taxi would take us to the Maple Court hotel as there had been a leak on the third floor. The Royal Highland paid for the taxi and the hotel, but they did not offer to pay for a taxi back to the station or repay the £20.62 difference in... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in the middle of winter when the outside tempertures fell to minus 15. We arrived and departed by sleeper train and the hotel couldn't have been better located being within the railway station complex and right in the city centre. The room though not the biggest was fine, being clean and nicely decorated. The... more
